How Long Does Moon Sweepers Take to Complete?
Quick answer
There is no official 100% completion time. The finish line is every one of 163,842 regions cleaned to at most 1% remaining dust; the completion ending lasts 25.4 seconds. Player reports include 11 hours at 0.3%, 12 hours at about 1% and 13 hours at 837 sectors, but those runs use different goals and cannot be averaged into a total.
Goal
What “complete” means
Moon Sweepers does not have a story campaign with a conventional hour count. The public completion target is the entire Moon. A region counts as done when at most 1% of its starting dust remains, and the ending plays when completed regions plus empty regions reach all 163,842. A player who has bought every upgrade has not completed the Moon.
| Goal | What it requires | Do the reports measure it? |
|---|---|---|
| Finish the opening loop | First delivery and first tool purchase. | Usually minutes, not a long-run metric. |
| Complete the current upgrade tree | Buy the relevant tools and matrix levels. | One 11-hour report says the tree was filled at 0.3% Moon progress. |
| Clear the Moon | All 163,842 regions at ≤1% dust. | No 100% completion time was found. |
| Unlock every achievement | Includes 100% Moon, 10,000 deposits and 10,000 sections. | No all-achievement time was found. |
Reports
Reported data points
| Report | Time | Progress | What it counts |
|---|---|---|---|
| Player A | 11 hours | 0.3% cleaning | Upgrade tree filled; Moon progress quoted separately. |
| Player B | 12 hours | About 1% Moon | Two players; approximate map coverage. |
| Player C | 13-hour save | 837 / 163,830 sectors | A save-specific sector count; not a 100% run. |
| Player D | 38.7 hours at review | Still criticizing early guidance | A playtime snapshot, not a completion claim. |
| Community estimate | “A week+ straight” | No measured percentage | A player's opinion about unattended time, not data. |
These are launch-week snapshots. They use different group sizes, goals and versions, and 1.0.4 changed robot speed and capsule capacity. Do not average them.
The 12-hour / 1% and 13-hour / 837-sector reports are in the same broad range but use different denominators. The 11-hour report's “0.3%” refers to Moon cleaning even though that player had filled the upgrade tree. The numbers describe three different experiences, not three samples of one measurement.
Why no total
Why a reliable completion time is still missing
- No official FAQ, store field or achievement text gives a total hour count.
- No 100% completion report was found in the checked material.
- The 1.0.4 J.O.O.N.A.S. changes reduce return trips and double cleaning behavior, so pre-patch runs do not describe the current automation ceiling.
- A linear extrapolation from one player's early pace would ignore upgrades, robots, multiple work sites and idle time. It would produce a large number, not a valid completion estimate.
- The map is large enough that “hours to 100%” depends more on the automation plan than on a fixed difficulty curve.
The practical purchase expectation is a long incremental project, not a ten-hour story. If a short completion time is a requirement, this game has not published one.
Version
What 1.0.4 changes about the estimate
Patch 1.0.4 makes J.O.O.N.A.S. clean a sector and launch capsules to the nearest catcher without returning to a dock, doubles its cleaning pace, and lets it keep working without a player nearby. The capsule catcher capacity is 100 kg. Those changes make late-game automation more viable, but no patch note gives a before/after completion time.
If you are comparing a current run with a launch-week report, check the version first. The automation guide and power guide show the current setup; the achievement list gives the actual completion thresholds.

Questions about this task
How long does Moon Sweepers take to beat?
No official total is published. The completion goal is cleaning all 163,842 regions to at most 1% remaining dust. The checked launch-week reports only cover small percentages, not a finished Moon.
Can one player finish the whole Moon?
The game has a single-player mode and the ending triggers when every region is done. The checked material does not contain a verified 100% solo completion, so this page cannot give a realistic solo time.
Is there a faster way to complete the Moon?
Automation is the main time-saving route: robot vacuums, J.O.O.N.A.S., capsule catchers and broad processing. A faster route still has to cover 163,842 regions; no shortcut or completion-time guarantee is verified.
